Team of the week – Matchday 21

Borussia Dortmund's new striker Michy Batshuayi leads the line in our team of the week after an impressive debut.
Matchday 21 – team of the week (4-1-2-1-2):

Goalkeeper: Tobias Sippel, Borussia Mönchengladbach
The Gladbach reserve made a series of great saves against RB Leipzig, and it looked like the guests would salvage a draw, but Sippel couldn't keep saving Gladbach, and Ademola Lookman scored a late winner for the home side.

Right-back: Serge Gnabry, Hoffenheim
Gnabry isn't usually known for his defensive contribution, but the former Arsenal player impressed in a right wing-back in Hoffenheim's 1-1 draw with Hertha. Positioned himself very well, and his pace proved valuable on several occasions. Also contributed to the offense with plenty of good runs up the right-hand side.

Centre-back: Jonathan Tah, Bayer Leverkusen
Once again looked very convincing as Leverkusen kept a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw against Freiburg. Was good at reading the play and won most of his duels.

Centre-back: Mats Hummels, FC Bayern München
As per usual a convincing display from the experienced Bayern defender who radiated calmness and experience. Won 75 percent of his duels.

Left-back: Jeremy Toljan, Borussia Dortmund
Looks more confident and safe on the ball and seems to thrive under Peter Stöger. Set up Michy Batshuayi's opener in the 3-2 win over FC Köln after a great run on the left-hand side.

Defensive midfielder: Robin Koch, SC Freiburg
Freiburg can always count on Robin Koch to work hard. Never stopped running in the middle of the park and won a lot of duels as he helped his team to a clean sheet and a point against Bayer Leverkusen.

Right midfielder: Valentino Lazaro, Hertha BSC
Was deployed in an offensive midfield role, but spent much of his time on either flank. With his pace, technical ability and sharp crossing, he was a constant threat in the 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim. Set up Salomon Kalou with a great cross.

Left midfielder: Franck Ribery, Bayern München
Scored one of the best goals of the round as he volleyed the ball into the net from the edge of the area. Combined well with his teammates and always looked threatening with the ball at his feet.

Offensive midfielder: James Rodriguez, Bayern München
The Colombian has started off 2018 extremely brightly, and he delivered another great performance and scored an impressive volley in Bayern's 2-0 win against Mainz.

Striker: Michy Batshuayi, Borussia Dortmund
There's a new Batman in town at Dortmund! The Chelsea loanee couldn't have hoped for a much better debut as he scored twice and made an assist in the 3-2 win over FC Köln.

Striker: Michael Gregoritsch, FC Augsburg
The Austrian, who has been a huge success since joining from Hamburger SV last summer, was sharp in front of goal once again as he scored an acrobatic goal in Augsburg's surprising 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
