Towering Norwegian central defender Kristoffer Ajer looks to be on the move this summer. The twenty-three-year-old's contract with Celtic expires in the summer of 2022 and the Glaswegians are reportedly keen to cash in on him during the current window.

The center back, who has been compared favorably with Virgil van Dijk, has a value of €4 million in the current transfermarkt listings. An article appearing on the website of German footballing magazine Kicker notes that the Scottish Champions seek a fee of around €15 million.

Leverkusen concluded a transaction with Celtic not so long ago, purchasing Dutch right fullback Jeremie Frimpong for €11 million during the January transfer window. Interestingly, Frimpong's market value was also listed at €4 million at that time.

Die Werkself were clearly able to snap up Frimpong by tendering an oversized offer as the deadline neared. Matters will certainly not be so simple this time. Several Premiership clubs with deep pockets have also been linked with the two-meter-tall talent.

Newly promoted Norwich City and Newcastle United are specifically referenced in the German report.

"It is clear that something will happen this summer," Ajer is quoted as saying from the Norwegian national team training camp, "It's in the best interest of both sides. The goal remains one of the top five European Leagues."
