Germany thrashed Latvia 7-1 in Düsseldorf in their last warm-up friendly before the upcoming European Championships.

Before the game at Merkur Spiel-Arena, which was played in front of 1,000 spectators, Manuel Neuer was honored for making his 100th Germany appearance.

Robin Gosens opened the scoring with his first-ever goal for Germany after 19 minutes, smashing the ball into the net after being teed up by Kai Havertz.

Joachim Löw's troops quickly added to the lead through Ilkay Gündogan, whose goal was followed up by Thomas Müller, an own goal from Roberts Ozols and a Serge Gnabry strike to give Germany a 5-0 lead at half-time.

Timo Werner came on to replace Kai Havertz at the break and chipped in with a goal in the 50th minute after he was played in by Joshua Kimmich.

Latvia then pulled one back through Aleksejs Saveljevs before another German second-half substitute - Leroy Sané - rounded off the scoring, making it 7-1.

Next up for 'Die Mannschaft' is their first game of the Euros against reigning world champions France on 15 June.
