Matthäus: Bayern will not have any problems despite injuries

Lothar Matthäus believes Bayern München will manage despite the recent injury blows.
After just three games of the season, Bayern München have lost Kingsley Coman, Corentin Tolisso and Rafinha to injuries, and the injury blows have made Bayern coach Niko Kovac call for more protection for his players.

Coman and Tolisso will both be out for several months, but Sky pundit and former German international Lothar Matthäus is convinced that Bayern will be fine without them at this stage of the season.

"I can totally understand when Kovac speaks of an unprotected game. After just three games, two Bayern players have suffered long-term injuries due to fouls that were over the top," Matthäus wrote in his column for Sky and added:

"I still don't see any problems for Bayern, certainly not in this league. If it was in the spring, this would be a lot worse. In the last few years, Bayern have lost important players in March and April."

Bayern München are top of the league after winning the first three games of the season.
