Hütter: 'Rebic is not in the shape he needs to be in'

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter says Ante Rebic will not be in the squad for the Europa League game against Marseille on Thursday.
After a strong World Cup, Croatian international Ante Rebic still hasn't played a minute for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga this season.

The winger has had adductor problems lately, and the Europa League game on Thursday against Marseille comes too soon for him.

"Ante is on the right track, but he is not in the shape he needs to be in at the moment," Eintracht Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter told HR.

Rebic caught the interest of some of Europe's top clubs with his performances at the World Cup, but ultimately, he put the rumors to bed and signed a contract extension until 2022.

On Thursday, Frankfurt will definitely also be without Timothy Chandler, Carlos Salcedo and Goncalo Paciencia who are all sidelined with long-term injuries.
