Report: Wolfsburg set sights on Norwegian prospect Dønnum

Sky Germany reports that the VfL Wolfsburg execs are enthusiats about acquiring sights set on a young Norwegian winger as part of their summer augmentation program.

Rumors of potential transfer additions in Germany's Autostadt ahead of VfL Wolfsburg's 2021/22 Champions' League campaign continue to come thick and fast. The latest reports from Sky Germany indicate that Jörg Schmadtke and Marcel Schäfer are targeting 23-year-old winger Aron Dønnum of Norway's capital city club Valerenga football.

Dønnum, a homegrown product of Valerenga's youth academy, just completed a fine season during which he recorded twelve goals and seven assists in 33 league appearances. The youngster's transfermarkt value has shot up to €800,000 in the last year. Dønnum recently debuted for the Norwegian national team.

Schmadtke and Schäfer enjoy a solid reputation for scouting young talent after years of doing so in the context of German football. After a excellent summer 2020 transfer window that saw the club procure Maxence Lacroix, Maximilian Philipp, Bartosz Bialek, and Ridle Baku, the Wolfsburg administrative team were awarded the highest score in a comprehensive administrative grading article published on this website.
