Germany coach Joachim Löw explains tactical approach against France
Joachim Löw has explained the reasoning behind Germany's line-up against France.
Germany coach Joachim Löw has explained his decision to field a 3-4-3 with Joshua Kimmich as a right wing-back for his side's Euro 2020 opener against France tonight.
"I've opted for a three-man backline because we have to be defensively sound. At the same time, we need good people down the flanks to attack," Löw told ZDF ahead of kickoff.
"That's why I decided to let 'Jo' Kimmich play on the right-hand side. Attacking down the wings gives us more options than through the middle."
