Mascarell linked with Villarreal and Besiktas
Villarreal and Besiktas have reportedly emerged as suitors for Schalke's Omar Mascarell.
Schalke 04 midfielder Omar Mascarell has attracted interest from Spanish side Villarreal and Turkish outfit Besiktas, according to Sky Germany.
The 28-year-old's agent is understood to be in talks with the two clubs over a possible transfer from the Gelsenkirchen club.
Mascarell, whose contract expires next year, is among the players likely to leave Schalke this summer, with the crisis-hit club looking to cut down their wage bill after getting relegated from the Bundesliga.
'The Royal Blues' paid €10 million to sign Mascarell from Real Madrid in 2018. He captained the club between January 2020 and February 2021.
