Ukraine claim their first win
In a game of missed penalties, it was Ukraine that got their first win of EURO 2020 rather than the major underdogs North Macedonia. They were made to work for it as the North Macedonians put on plenty of pressure on the Ukrainians, but goals from former Borussia Dortmund winger Andriy Yarmolenko and Genk striker Roman Yaremchuk were enough to get the men in yellow their first win of the tournament. Leeds' Ezgjan Alioski had his penalty saved but followed up the rebound to give the North Macedonian players and fans some hope but despite Ruslan Malinoskyi's penalty being saved, Ukraine were able to escape Bucharest with a victory. Stuttgart's Darko Churlinov was the sole representative from the Bundesliga for both sides and he came off the bench in the 2nd half, but could not help North Macedonia get back level.

Belgium book last 16 place
It was an emotional day at the Parken Stadion as Denmark played against world number 1 side Belgium in front of an almost packed out home stadium, but it was the Red Devils that won all 3 points in Copenhagen and subsequently booked their spot in the round of 16. Denmark made a fantastic start with Yussuf Poulsen scoring for Denmark after just 2 minutes. Denmark were fired up and the stadium roared them on, the want to win this game for their teammate and talisman Christian Eriksen was clear to see. On the 10th minute, the game came to a standstill and the whole stadium were on their feet giving a minute's applause for their hero Christian Eriksen. The members that were on the pitch paused and applauded, sending all of their best wishes to Eriksen and his family. It was all Denmark in the first half but Roberto Martinez called up the big guns from the bench, and it was the biggest gun, Kevin De Bruyne, who had the biggest impact. He provided the assist for the Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard's goal which brought Belgium back in the game. The winner was scored by De Bruyne himself, as a first time strike went low into the bottom corner, beating Kasper Schmeichel in the Denmark goal. Belgium become the 2nd side to qualify for the last 16, after Italy's qualification yesterday.

Denmark Starting XI: (3-4-1-2)

Netherlands claim a spot in the round of 16
It was not just Belgium who claimed a last 16 spot today, as the Netherlands qualified for the next stage following a 2-0 win over Austria at the Johan Cruyff ArenA. A penalty from Memphis Depay and another goal in this tournament for PSV right-back Denzel Dumfries were enough for the Oranje to qualify for the last 16. VfL Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst started the game for the Dutch, but wasn't able to get on the scoresheet. For Austria, they created next-to-nothing in the final third, a long-shot from outgoing Bayern defender David Alaba was the only major chance that Austria fashioned in the 90 minutes. The Dutch fans celebrate another win and they can celebrate qualification to the next round of EURO 2020 as their victory against Austria confirms their spot in the last 16.

Netherlands Starting XI: (5-3-2)
