After losing 0-1 to reigning world champions France in their Euro 2020 opener, Germany will be hoping to bounce back on Saturday against Portugal, who currently lead the group after beating Hungary 3-0 in their first game.

Jonas Hofmann and Lukas Klostermann are expected to miss out due to injuries, but Germany coach Joachim Löw should otherwise have a full squad at his disposal.

Leon Goretzka should come back into the squad after recovering from a muscle issue, but he might not be deemed fit enough to start.

Following Germany's defeat to France, Löw has faced criticism for his decision to field a 3-4-3 with Joshua Kimmich playing as a right wing-back instead of in a middle, with many calling for him to revert to a back four.

However, German football magazine Kicker has tipped him to stick with the three-man defense he employed against France and in the two warm-up friendlies against Denmark and Latvia.

With Klostermann likely to be out, Matthias Ginter or Niklas Süle could play on the right side of defence if Löw decides to move Kimmich to central midfield.

Up front, Leroy Sané is pushing to come into the starting eleven at the expense of Kai Havertz.
