Report: Bayern target Dutch right-back

Reports have emerged that German champions Bayern Munich are monitoring the PSV defender Denzel Dumfries.
The reports come from Sky Germany who claim that Bayern are monitoring the player, but are also suggesting the player's release clause is too high. Dumfries has a release clause of €15m that can be triggered, but it is thought that Bayern are unwilling to pay for it.

Serie A champions Inter Milan are said to be leading the race for Dumfries as they look set to part ways with Moroccan wing-back Achraf Hakimi, but they face competition from Bayern as well as some unnamed Premier League clubs for the 25-year-old's signature.

Bayern could enter the race and would be a potentially enticing destination for the player, but it is thought that the Bavarians do not wish to make any more significant purchases this summer having made significant outlays to bring in defender Dayot Upamecano and new coach Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig.

Dumfries is currently on EURO 2020 duty with the Netherlands playing exceptionally well, netting twice in the 2 games that the Dutch have played including the winner in their opener versus Ukraine. The Netherlands have qualified for the round of 16, having won both of their games against Ukraine and Austria.
