Lazio said to be leading the race for Frankfurt winger

Italian media reports that SS Lazio are now the leading side in the race for Filip Kostic's signature.
Journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who writes for SportItalia, reports that the Rome-based side are now the leading candidates for Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic ahead of fellow Serie A side Inter Milan.

It was previously reported that Inter were the leading side after they agreed personal terms with the winger, but they have not yet made contact with Eintracht over a deal.

The 28-year-old Serbian winger is under contract with Eintracht until June 2023 and accumulated a brilliant total of 17 assists along with 4 goals in 30 Bundesliga outings for Frankfurt who just missed out on qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

Another Italian news publication, Corriere dello Sport, had already suggested Lazio were opening talks for Kostic, but SportItalia claim they have progressed rapidly. The proposed deal for Kostic would be initially a paid loan for the player, with an obligation to buy if the Italian side qualified for the Champions League. But as of yet no formal bid has been placed.
