Lothar Matthäus has waxed lyrical about Germany and Chelsea star Kai Havertz, comparing him to French legend Zinedine Zidane.
"Havertz will be a pillar of the national team in the next six to eight years when Kroos, Müller and Gündogan have retired," Matthäus told Kicker and added:
"I like to compare him with Zinedine Zidane in terms of his skills, technical ability and the way he anticipates situations.
"Zidane didn't seem to have a lot of pace, but he was fast when he ran off with the ball. The same goes for Havertz," emphasized the former German international.
At the age of 22, Havertz has represented his country 13 times, scoring three goals.
