Nagelsmann on Hoffenheim's Champions League debut: 'We can be proud'

Julian Nagelsmann says Hoffenheim can be proud of their first ever game in the Champions League - a 2-2 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk.
In Hoffenheim's first ever Champions League game last night, 'Die Kraichgauer' were leading 2-1 away against Shakhtar Donetsk, but had to settle for a 2-2 draw after an equaliser towards the end.

After the game, Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann said he was pleased with the point even though his team were in the lead until the 81th minute.

"I'm quite satisfied with the point although we had the biggest chances, even if the opponents controlled the game a bit more than we did which was something deliberately chosen. That was our first match in the Champions League, and I think we can be proud," Nagelsmann told Sky.

In the other game in Hoffenheim's Group F, Olympique Lyon surprisingly beat Manchester City 2-1 last night.
