Bayern boss expects more from Leroy Sané: 'His year of stabilization is over'

Bayern München boss Hasan Salihamidzic has challenged Leroy Sané to become a 'key player' next season.
Bayern München board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic has warned Leroy Sané that his 'stabilization' period is over, telling Kicker he expects the 25-year-old to improve considerably in his second season at Allianz Arena.

"Leroy missed a whole year after tearing his cruciate ligament. In his first season with us, he fought his way back, showed his great talent and had some good games. Now we expect him to be a key player, who can carry the team," said Salihamidzic.

"His year of stabilization is over. I have big confidence in him, even though he has a different character than other players. However, he has a year of truth ahead of him, and he will get all the support from all of us."

Sané made 44 appearances in his first season at Bayer, racking up 10 goals and 12 assists.
