When the 2021/22 German Bundesliga kicks off at Borussia Park on August 13th, Borussia Mönchengladbach hope to welcome a minimum of 18,000 fans at their home arena. This constitutes roughly 33 percent capacity at Borussia Park; a ratio permitted by the current corona protection ordinance regulating public events in North Rhine Westphalia.

The club revealed details of their "hygiene-concept" on Monday. Entry into the venue will require both a negative test certificate and proof of vaccination. Additionally, social distancing guidelines within the stadium will remain in effect. Gladbach will actually test drive the concept during a July 30th test match against Dutch side FC Groningen on July 30th.

Ostensibly, there should be live fans at all nine Bundesliga fixtures when the league debuts. Thus far, however, only Gladbach and the Pfalz's FSV Mainz 05 have revealed concepts. The Rheinhessen announced on Monday that they hoped to permit 13,000 season ticket holders through the turnstiles on Saturday, August 14th for the opening match against RB Leipzig.

This figure corresponds to nearly 40 percent capacity at the Opel Arena. Mainz deferred further details about their own concept until Wednesday.
