Favre's Dortmund team needs time and patience

There's still a lot to improve on for Lucien Favre's Borussia Dortmund team. Patience and time will be needed.
Looking at Borussia Dortmund's results so far this season, the club have made a strong start to the season. Still, Dortmund have struggled at times under Lucien Favre so far - especially when it comes to creating chances.

Favre has said numerous times that there is still a lot of work to do, and at today's press conference ahead of the game versus Hoffenheim on Saturday, the Dortmund coach once again underlined that it will take time to perfect his project at the Signal Iduna Park.

"It takes time. It doesn't just take a week. It will take much longer for us to find the right system," Favre said.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc also said he expects the team to improve as the season progresses.

"It's clear that we will need patience and time. We have good defensive stability, but we can certainly do better going forward," Zorc said and added:

"We are very satisfied with the development until now."

At today's press conference, Favre also made it clear that he isn't sure if Paco Alcacer will recover in time for Saturday's game. Ömer Toprak and Raphael Guerreiro are still unavailable, but Thomas Delaney is expected to be back.
