Report: Gündogan considering international retirement

Bild claims Ilkay Gündogan is pondering over his international future.
Ilkay Gündogan is having doubts about continuing with the German national team, according to Bild.

Toni Kroos announced his international retirement on Friday, and the Manchester City midfielder could possibly follow suit.

First, however, Gündogan wants to have a conversation with new Germany coach Hansi Flick, per the German tabloid.

Since making his senior international debut in 2011, the 30-year-old has gone on to appear 49 times for Germany.

In addition to Gündogan, Mats Hummels and Thomas Müller are reportedly considering whether to keep playing for Germany, who crashed out at Euro 2020 at the hands of England in the round of 16.
