It made headlines when German World Cup winner and former Borussia Dortmund player Kevin Grosskreutz joined 3. Liga side KFC Uerdingen during the summer.

Many questioned the transfer, but Grosskreutz has underlined that he isn't interested in listening to the critical voices.

Speaking to Tagesspiegel, the 29-year-old has explained that the feeling he get from playing football is the same in the 3. Liga as at the World Cup.

"The moment the ball leaves your foot, and you feel it could go into the net, the feeling that you get is the same everywhere - in Brazil at a World Cup or here in the third division. It's only in Dortmund that it's a little better," Grosskreutz said and added:

"I like to play football - no matter where. Even when my career is over, I will still play with my friends on a lower level. Football has shaped my life, and it will remain to do so."

Grosskreutz has made seven appearances for KFC Uerdingen who are currently leading the 3. Liga.
