Kovac: 'Sanches will play regularly in the coming weeks'

Bayern München coach Niko Kovac says Renato Sanches can look forward to more time on the pitch after impressing against Benfica.
Renato Sanches featured in his first match for Bayern München this season when he played 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Benfica on Tuesday.

The Portuguese midfielder repaid the trust that Bayern München coach Niko Kovac put in him with a good performance and a goal, and now, the 21-year-old is set for more time on the pitch.

"Renato did very well against Benfica. He justified the faith we have put in him, and he will play regularly in the coming weeks," Kovac said at today's press conference.

Bayern München will face Schalke 04 on Saturday, and Kovac says he expects the team to carry on from the 3-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.

"Against Schalke we want to pick up where we left off last week against Leverkusen. I'm expecting an aggressive, intensive match," the Bayern coach said.
