Borussia Dortmund are understood to have tabled a first bid for Mainz centre-back Jeremiah St. Juste.

According to Allgemeine Zeitung, 'Die Schwarzgelben' have offered a fee just under Mainz's reported asking price of €15-20 million.

Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel, however, has played down the report, telling Sport1:

"There is no offer from BVB."

SS Lazio and Bayer Leverkusen, among others, have also been linked with the 24-year-old defender.

Mainz paid €8 million to sign St. Juste from Feyenoord in August 2019. Since then, he has gone on to feature 60 times for 'Die Nullfünfer' with two goals and three assists to his name.
