Sport Bild Report: Ngankam suffers serious ACL tear

Before even getting a chance to a kick a ball in his first competitive match for his new club, reports are now surfacing that Jessic Ngankam's entire season is in jeopardy.
Barely 48 hours after his season-long loan was confirmed, young attacking prospect Jessic Ngankam suffered an apparently serious knee injury during a Saturday training session in Fürth. The 20-year-old was able to play in a Friday test match, but could not complete the subsequent training session.

According to reports from Germany's main sporting tabloid, Ngankam may have torn an ACL. The severity of such a such an injury would, at the very least, rule him out for the first half of the season.

German footballing magazine Kicker attempted to contact officials at the newly promoted club to seek comment on the initial report appearing in Sport Bild. Fürth neither confirmed nor denied the report, citing the ongoing nature of the examinations.

An official announcement is expected Monday.
