Official: Schalke ship out Raman to Belgium, Düsseldorf also profit from sale

FC Schalke 04 and Belgian club RSC Anderlecht announced that they had finalized terms for the transfer of 26-year-old forward Benito Raman back to his home country.
Financial terms were not disclosed late Thursday evening. FC Schalke 04 merely declared themselves "satisfied with the financial conditions" involved in the sale of Benito Raman to RSC Anderlecht.

Sky Germany's Dirk Schlarmann speculated that the sum likely exceeded Raman's current listed market value of €3 million. This is because Raman's transfer to Schalke from Fortuna Düsseldorf in the summer of 2019 was widely understood to contain a re-sale recompense for the F95. The number is thought to be some €2.3 million owed to the Flingeraner.

Raman's two-year-tenure at Schalke saw his market value plummet from €12 million down to one quarter of that at the end of the season just completed. The Belgian striker scored six league goals in 50 appearances for die Königsblauen. Such production numbers certainly weren't great, but the 26-year-old did add six tallies in DFB Pokal fixtures.

"Benito openly communicated to us that he no longer sees his future at Schalke 04," club sporting director Rouven Schröder noted in a released statement, "It it thus advantageous for both sides to have found a reasonable solution with this transfer."

The Schalke fire-sale of assets continues ahead of the beginning of the 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign next week. The high-value transfer of Matija Nastasic has not been officially confirmed yet, but multiple sources report that die Knappen will profit from the sale.
