Bayern München and Leon Goretzka are far apart in their talks over a contract extension, according to Sport Bild.

Nagelsmann's first game as Bayern's new head coach
Bayern were beaten 3-2 by 1. FC Köln in their first pre-season friendly of the summer. Taking charge of his first game as FCB boss, new head coach Julian Nagelsmann was missing the majority of international players.

Goretzka, who is out of contract next year, is demanding €20 million per year to sign a new contract with the Bavarians, who are only prepared to offer around €10-12 million, per the report.

It is further claimed that Goretzka and his agent are 'irritated' that the negotiations are currently at a standstill.

Due to a self-imposed salary cap, Bayern want to keep all annual wages below €20 million per season. Only a few top players have come close to that mark.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are all said to be interested in Goretzka.
