Report: Mainz join Trabzonspor in race to sign Sørloth

Mainz have reportedly joined the race for Alexander Sørloth, who is heading for the exit door at RB Leipzig.
Mainz 05 have joined Turkish side Trabzonspor in the race to sign Alexander Sørloth from RB Leipzig, according to Sportbuzzer.

Per the report, 'Die Roten Bullen' want to offload Sørloth permanently after his disappointing first season at the club.

Mainz are now understood to have emerged as suitors for the Norwegian international, but they probably can't afford signing him on a permanent basis.

Trabzonspor, where Sørloth spent the 2019/20 season on loan from Crystal Palace with great success, currently look like the front runners, although Turkey isn't his dream destination.

Leipzig put €20 million on the table to sign the 25-year-old from Crystal Palace last summer.

He has scored six goals in 37 games for the club so far.
