Leon Bailey 'ready for the next step' amid reported interest from Aston Villa

Leon Bailey has fueled speculation that he could leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey has admitted he is keen to take on a new challenge amid reports that Aston Villa have made an offer for him.

"I'm totally ready for the next step," Bailey said in an interview with ESPN and added:

"I've been working hard, and I feel like I'm at an age, at a point in my life, where I'm ready for the next step."

Asked if can see himself staying in the Bundesliga or if he's more attracted to the Premier League, Bailey responded:

"For me, it's about being at the highest level. I feel I need a new challenge."

Bailey joined Leverkusen from KRC Genk in January 2017. Since then, he has gone on to score 39 goals and make 26 assists in 156 appearances for 'Die Werkself'.
