Nagelsmann speaks on the futures of Goretzka and Tolisso

Julian Nagelsmann was quizzed about the uncertain Bayern futures of Leon Goretzka and Corentin Tolisso after a friendly against Napoli yesterday.
Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann has spoken on the futures of Leon Goretzka and Corentin Tolisso, who are both under contract until 2022.

"I'm not so involved in the contract talks that I have to have a say every day, because I stay out of contractual issues," Nagelsmann told reporters after Bayern fell to a 0-3 defeat against Napoli in a friendly yesterday.

"I have, of course, spoken to [Goretzka] about my plans for him and that I would be happy if he extended his contract. Accordingly, I am confident he will. It's an interplay of several issues before a contract extension can be agreed.

"My part is the sporting part, and I'm trying to show him that he's one of the most dangerous midfielders in Europe and that he has the potential to become even better. And I think that hopefully satisfies him."

As for the future of Tolisso, who is currently sidelined due to COVID-19, Nagelsmann explained:

"'Coco' is staying in France at the moment, and I'm looking forward to when he's back. Everyone here knows about his contractual situation, so I don't need to say anything about it. I'm working on the assumption that he'll be part of the team when he's healthy again."
