Reports: Leipzig sell Samardzic off for €3 million
German footballing magazine Kicker confirms information from Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marcio concerning an impending transfer of Lazar Samardzic to the Serie A.
One-time disaffected Hertha BSC Academy prospect Lazar Samardzic is set too depart Leipzig having barely made an impact in Saxony. The German Red Bulls were very pleased to have snapped him up for a €500,000 fee last September. The 19-year-old barely featured for his new club, however.
After just seven appearances (two starts), RB is set to flip him for a reported €3 million transfer fee. The Bundesliga club initially wanted to loan the prospect out, but Serie A club Udinese Calcio preferred to purchase him outright.
Samardzic was absent from Leipzig training on Tuesday. Germany's Kicker magazine confirms a report from Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio that the Berlin native is in Italy for a medical.
