Confirmed: Zirkzee loaned to RSC Anderlecht through end of the season
FC Bayern München and RSC Anderlecht confirmed striker Joshua Zirkzee's season-long loan-out on Tuesday evening.
After spending the second half of last season on loan in the Serie A, Joshua Zirkzee is headed to Belgium through the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
"After a phone call with [head-coach] Vincent Kompany, I immediately sensed a connection," the 20-year-old Dutch youth international said in a statement released by his new club, "The club has a lot of confidence in me and I believe that the playing philosophy of Anderlecht suits me well."
FC Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic issued his own statement.
"For Joshua, it is very important that he gets a lot of playing time," "Brazzo" noted, "RSC Anderlecht offers him this opportunity. He can now take the next step in his career in a very interesting league. I believe that he will have a good season."
At the present time, earlier reports about the non-existence of a buyout clause cannot be confirmed.
