Urbig extends Köln contract

FC Köln's 18-year-old goalkeeper Jonas Urbig has signed a contract extension.
The youngster has extended his deal until 30th June 2024 to commit his long-term future to the club, which has been his home since he was nine years old.

“Jonas is a determined and very talented goalkeeper, who we have been developing for the last nine years,” stated FC Köln’s Sporting Director, Thomas Kessler.

“He has made a huge step forward in his development in the past few years and we want to give him the opportunity to develop and establish himself alongside Timo Horn and Marvin Schwäbe.”

Urbig, who has been training regularly with the first team since 2019, said: “I’ve been playing for FC since I was nine. I am thankful, that I’ve promoted and progressed so well here, and I am excited to make the step-by-step journey into professional football.”
