Hamburger SV and SpVgg Greuther Fürth express mutual satisfaction over Dudziak deal

Both Hamburger SV and SpVgg Greuter Fürth's top administrators expressed their satisfaction with the completed transfer of attacking midfielder Jeremy Dudziak on Monday evening.
Negotiations to bring German/Tunisian international Jeremy Dudziak back to the German top tier were concluded quickly over the weekend. The 25-year-old made three appearances in the country's top footballing flight whilst still a young prospect in the Borussia Dortmund system during the 2014/15 campaign. Given the current state of his new club, a long-awaited fourth set of minutes should not be far away.

"The possibility of a transfer arose on short notice," HSV sporting director Michael Mutzel noted in a statement on Monday, "We then decided together that it would be a good solution for both sides."

"Jeremy sought a new challenge," Fürth managing director Rachid Azzouzi said, "and we are very pleased that we can offer him this. With him we acquire immediate quality that shall assist us in our goal of remaining in the league."

Fürth head-coach Stefan Leitl took extensive heat for his side's somewhat embarrassing Bundesliga debut over the weekend. The 43-year-old trainer told his post-match-interviewer that there were "no excuses" for the 1-5 defeat to Stuttgart and promises a "full re-tool".

"Jeremy is a player who is technically adept and has a good eye for his teammates," Leitl noted in his own statement, "He brings with him the potential to prove himself in the Bundesliga."

German sources report on a "six-figure transfer fee". Transfermarkt's German website puts this at €750,000. Dudziak signs a contract through 2025. His working papers with Hamburg went through the end of the current season.

Dudziak's position at Hamburg had long been tenuous after a falling out with interim trainer Horst Hrubesch late last year. New trainer Tim Walter appeared to have no regular use for him.
