Report: Marseille and Leipzig in talks for Sørloth loan deal
French side Olympique de Marseille have reportedly entered into talks with RB Leipzig over a potential loan deal for Norwegian forward Alexander Sørloth.
The striker looks set to leave the Red Bull Arena this summer after new head coach Jesse Marsch left him out of the DFB-Pokal squad to face 2. Bundesliga side SV Sandhausen.
According to French publication Foot Mercato, Marseille's president Pablo Longoria has held talks with representatives from both RB Leipzig and Sørloth over a loan with an option to buy. Sørloth himself is happy with a move to Marseille, but a deal has not yet been agreed.

The 25-year-old striker has been linked with a move away all summer long, seemingly no longer part of Jesse Marsch's plans for the new season. Interest from the Premier League in the form of Southampton, as well as interest from the Serie A, is likely to give Marseille some competition if they are going to sign Sørloth.
The striker's father has also commented on his son's future, saying: "Alexander wants to play football. He doesn't just want to sit and look at his bank account. He wants to see how far he can go and what he can take this to. At the same time, he has a lot of thoughts about the Norwegian national team."
