Union Berlin centre-back Marvin Friedrich has dismissed suggestions that he could join Berlin rivals Hertha BSC before the transfer window closes.

"I can reassure the great Union fans. Because of my great attachment to Union, I will definitely not go to Hertha."

According to reports, Hertha recently inquired about the 25-year-old's centre-back's availability.

Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach have also been linked with Friedrich, whose contract expires next summer.
