New RB Leipzig signing hits out at Barcelona

New RB Leipzig signing Ilaix Moriba is unhappy with the way he was treated by his now former club FC Barcelona.
Ilaix Moriba has hit out at FC Barcelona after he left the Catalan club to sign for RB Leipzig on deadline day.

Speaking in his first interview as an RB Leipzig player (via Marca), Moriba reveals he has received hateful messages from Barcelona supporters and claims that the club told lies about him in the press after he decided not to extend his contract, which was due to expire in 2022.

"The last few months have been the hardest of my life, we [my family] have received abusive messages but we have been able to get over it to be here today. I don't deserve these messages," Moriba said.

"They [people at the club] have said many things that are not true and we have had to keep tight-lipped because of the respect that we have for Barcelona. The things that they have said in the press have not been fair."

RB Leipzig paid a reported €16 million to sign the young midfielder.
