RB Leipzig newcomer relishing prospect of facing former teammate Messi in the Champions League

New RB Leipzig signing Ilaix Moriba has spoken on his relationship with former FC Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi and the prospect of facing the 34-year-old and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Like RB Leipzig's new signing Ilaix Moriba, Lionel Messi departed Barcelona during the summer, with the Argentine superstar signing for Paris Saint-Germain after saying an emotional goodbye to the club he had spent his entire career at.

RB Leipzig have been drawn against Messi and PSG in the Champions League, and Moriba is relishing the chance to come up against his ex-teammate.

"It is any child's dream to play with Messi, what he has done is incredible," Moriba said, according to Marca.

"The best thing was that he is such a good person, he tries to help young players.

"When we play each other, we will shake hands, but when the game starts there is no more friendship, we will defend our clubs and I will give everything for Leipzig."

In addition to PSG, Moriba and Leipzig have been drawn against Manchester City and Club Brugge.

'Die Roten Bullen' will face PSG away from home on 19 October and at home on 3 November.
