Nagelsmann reveals why Wirtz was taken off at half-time against the Netherlands
Julian Nagelsmann has given an injury update on Florian Wirtz after the youngster was forced off in Germany's win over the Netherlands.
Florian Wirtz was subbed off at the break of Germany's 1-0 win over the Netherlands on Monday.
In an interview after the game, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann revealed that the Bayer Leverkusen youngster suffered an injury in the first half.
"Florian felt something on his inner ligament. He got caught in the turf during an action," Nagelsmann told Kicker after the final whistle.
“He will be diagnosed on Tuesday. We'll have to wait for the pictures, and of course we hope it's nothing serious.”
It's unclear if Wirtz will be fit for Bayer Leverkusen's Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
