Aston Villa show interest in Openda

Aston Villa are reportedly exploring a move for RB Leipzig forward Loïs Openda.

According to transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri, talks have been ongoing for several months, and there is mutual interest between the parties. 

However, any potential deal hinges on on Villa first offloading current striker Ollie Watkins.

Openda, 25, is among several high-profile players linked with an exit from the Red Bull Arena following Leipzig’s underwhelming 2024/25 campaign.

Since joining from Lens for €40 million in 2023, Openda has scored 41 goals in 90 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
