FC Augsburg have reportedly rejected another offer from Crystal Palace for highly rated centre-back Chrislain Matsima.
Following reports late on Saturday evening that the Premier League club had submitted an improved €25 million bid, Sky Germany now reports that Augsburg have once again turned down Palace’s approach.
The latest written offer was reportedly rejected on Sunday morning, with the two clubs still some distance apart in their respective valuations of the 23-year-old defender despite Matsima having already reached an agreement on personal terms.
Augsburg are understood to be determined not to sell below their asking price and would be looking to secure a club-record transfer fee should a deal eventually be agreed.
The current record sale remains the transfer of Ghana international Abdul Rahman Baba to Chelsea for €26 million in 2015. Any agreement for Matsima would therefore surpass that figure and set a new benchmark for the Bavarian club.
