Bara Sapoko Ndiaye returned to Senegal’s starting lineup in their narrow friendly win over Comoros in Marseille. Former Marseille winger Iliman Ndiaye scored the only goal inside the first five minutes for Patrick Vieira’s side.
The FC Bayern midfielder made only two cameo appearances for Senegal since making his debut in a pre-World Cup friendly against USMNT in North Carolina. After Vieira played the first two competitive games of his reign, he started the friendly with four central midfielders – Pape Matar Sarr, Nobel Mendy, Idrissa Gana Gueye and the 18-year-old.
HSV’s center-back Warmed Omari played the entire game for Comoros, ten days after scoring his first international goal in the 3-1 defeat to Cameroon.
The Indomitable Lions beat Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan on Saturday night. Guela Doue was an unused substitute for the hosts as he returns from an injury that ruled him out since making his Bayer Leverkusen debut in Augsburg.
His Leverkusen teammate Christian Kofane only played 45 minutes of action in this international break. The Cameroon striker lost his starting berth to Patrik Schick, but he scored three goals in all competitions
