Spanish media have recently suggested that Real Madrid are monitoring VfB Stuttgart’s Finn Jeltsch, with a view to potentially making a move for him next summer.

However, while confirming that Real Madrid are indeed “keeping an eye” on Jeltsch, Bild’s football chief, Christian Falk, has made it clear that the La Liga giants aren’t “hot on the heels” of the defender.

One possible advantage for Real Madrid is that former Stuttgart advisor Sami Khedira is working as an assistant to José Mourinho in the Spanish capital and could use his contacts to initiate first contact.

Despite this, Falk maintains that Bayern shouldn’t be concerned, claiming that the German champions “have one hand” on Jeltsch “and would be the first to make a move” for the 20-year-old centre-back.

He claims that Bayern have previously indicated their interest in the Stuttgart man and that the defender could emerge as “a good option” for the Bavarians if they need to strengthen at centre-back following the departure of Hiroki Ito and/or Min-jae Kim.

A number of clubs from England, including Arsenal and Manchester United, have also been touted as suitors for Jeltsch.

The 20-year-old will be hoping to make his Germany debut on Sunday after watching Thursday’s 2-0 win over Serbia from the bench.

Bulinews.com recently spoke to German scouting expert Florian Först about the 20-year-old, and he also identified Bayern Munich as the favourites to sign him.
