As reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, the forward was unable to travel with the squad ahead of the weekend fixture at the Volkswagen Arena. The absence represents a significant late blow for head coach Niko Kovač, although no specific reason was provided by the newspaper.

Adeyemi has been a regular feature for Dortmund this season, making 19 Bundesliga appearances and contributing five goals and two assists.

The 24-year-old is the latest name added to their injury list, joining Emre Can, Filippo Mané and Marcel Sabitzer on the sidelines. Dortmund head into the match sitting six points behind league leaders Bayern Munich, with a crucial three points on offer as they look to maintain pressure at the top of the table.

Despite the setback, Kovač still has attacking options at his disposal, with Maximilian Beier expected to step into the starting XI in Adeyemi’s absence. It remains unclear how long the Germany international will be unavailable.
