Bochum dealt Boadu blow ahead of derby with Dortmund

Myron Boadu, VfL Bochum's top-scorer, has been issued yet another disappointing injury prognosis which will rule the Netherlands front man out ahead of Saturday's game against BVB.

Around midday today, VfL Bochum released a statement regarding the wellness of their players. The Bundesliga club were dealt a blow when it was announced that Myron Boadu has been ruled out through injury.

The Netherlands striker bagged two vital goals in last weekend’s 2-2 stalemate away to Holstein Kiel. A knock sustained just before the break would see him swiftly replaced by Moritz Broschinski.

Having arrived from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in August 2024, Boadu hit the ground running before hip problems sidelined him for seven Bundesliga games between mid-October and December.

With 7 goals and 1 assist in 11 outings, including a hattrick against RB Leipzig, its clear to see his importance in Dieter Hecking’s team.

Die Unabsteigbaren have since underlined that the 24-year-old will not be available for next Saturday’s clash with Ruhrpott rivals Borussia Dortmund.

On a slightly brighter note, the blue and white clad club could confirm both midfielders Tom Krauss and Gerrit Holtmann have been given the all-clear. The duo will probably join Georgios Masouras in individual training today at least.
