Borussia Dortmund vs. Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Team news and predicted lineups

Here is our preview of Saturday's Bundesliga clash between Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt, including predicted lineups.

Borussia Dortmund

There's a new man in charge at Borussia Dortmund, with Nuri Sahin having replaced Edin Terzic as head coach over the summer.

After impressing in pre-season and in the DFB-Pokal, Saturday's clash with Eintracht Frankfurt will be the first real test for Sahin's new Dortmund side.

“I've been looking forward to this day like a child does, and now it's finally almost here, and we can get going. We'll be ready, the boys will be ready, and I hope we'll live up to it,” said Sahin on his first game as BVB head coach.

Team News

Dortmund have been busy on the transfer front over the summer, with Maximilian Beier, Waldemar Anton, the currently injured Serhou Guirassy, Pascal Gross and Yan Couto all having arrived.

Notable departures include Niclas Füllkrug, who has been sold to West Ham, Ian Maatsen, who has left after a loan spell, and veterans Marco Reus and Mats Hummels, who have both been released.

Apart from Guirassy, Sahin should have a full squad at his disposal for Saturday's game.

Eintracht Frankfurt

After a promising pre-season, Eintracht Frankfurt will be hoping to make a step forward this season under Dino Toppmöller.

A narrow sixth-place finish was solid enough for Eintracht Frankfurt, but Toppmöller came in for plenty of criticism throughout the season.

His side's first-half performance against Eintracht Braunschweig in the DFB-Pokal wasn't anything to write home about, but his players upped their game in the second half, with Hugo Ekitike stealing the show with a brace to help Eintracht to a 4-1 win.

Eintracht will be hoping for more of the same against Dortmund in what promises to be a high-scoring encounter. At least four goals have been scored in each of the last two meetings between the two sides.

Team News

Eintracht have had a busy summer, bringing in the likes of Rasmus Kristensen, Arthur Theate and highly-rated youngster Can Uzun.

Their most notable departure is Willian Pacho, who has been sold to PSG for a reported €40 million.

Loune (knee) looks to be Eintracht's only absentee against Dortmund.
