Braunschweig take Alidou on loan, Hannover sign Preston's Icelandic midfielder

Braunschweig have picked up the Kaiserslautern winger on loan, while Hannover have acquired a Preston North End midfielder.

Braunschweig take Alidou on loan from Kaiserslautern

Eintracht Braunschweig have reacted to the departure of Christian Conteh by signing Faride Alidou from 1.FC Kaiserslautern. 

The 24-year-old winger joins the Lower Saxony club on loan from their second-division rivals until the end of the season.

As the club announced, Braunschweig have secured an option to buy Alidou, the value of which was not disclosed.

Hannover sign Icelandic midfielder from Preston

Meanwhile, Hannover 96 have announced the signing of Stefán Teitur Thórdarson from English Championship side Preston North End. 

The 27-year-old midfield player has put pen to paper on a contract with the Lower Saxony club until June 2029.

Thórdarson has 34 caps for the Icelandic national team, making 17 appearances for Preston with one assist this season.

The right-footed player is Hannover's second signing during this winter transfer window, following SC Freiburg loanee Noah Weißhaupt.
