Werder Bremen are searching for their first win in nine matches as they host the in-form TSG Hoffenheim. It’s one of the two rescheduled fixtures from matchday 16 because of adverse weather conditions.
Bremen’s captain Marco Friedl is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on the weekend. Defenders Isaac Schmidt and Amos Pieper are also out with injuries, while January signing Jovan Milosevic starts up front for the first time.
Hoffenheim have a perfect record since the turn of the year with wins over Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen, and Eintracht Frankfurt. Tim Lemperle missed the win against the latter due to illness, but he’s now straight back into the starting lineup.
