Bayer Leverkusen are sweating over the fitness of Malik Tillman ahead of their Champions League return-leg play-off match against Olympiacos FC at the BayArena on Tuesday.

The US international picked up an ankle problem in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Union Berlin, which could keep him out of the game.

“We have a small training session and a medical check tomorrow, but it will be difficult with Malik,” said Bayer Leverkusen head coach Kasper Hjulmand at a press conference on Monday.

“It’s not fully decided yet, but it doesn’t look very good. The decision will be made tomorrow.”

Leverkusen will take a 2-0 advantage from the first leg into Tuesday’s clash.
