18-year-old Luca Reggiani will likely remember Borussia Dortmund's 2-0 win over Augsburg on Saturday forever, as he scored his first senior goal to cement the victory.

The significance of the moment was clear, as Reggiani couldn't contain his excitement after seeing the ball hit the back of the net.

Speaking in the mixed zone after the match, BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl said that “everyone shared his happiness.”

“First goal, brilliantly played! When you score a goal, it naturally stands out even more. The way he celebrated – that was pure joy, coming from deep within – and the reward for many, many years of hard work. Everyone shared in his happiness, and that’s why he’ll sleep well tonight,” Kehl said.

While Kehl noted that Dortmund could have been more clinical in front of goal, he praised the team’s defensive performance.

“We created plenty of goalscoring opportunities and could have won by a much larger margin. Overall, we allowed very little in defense, which made it easier for him (Luca Reggiani, editor's note) than in other games,” he said.
