Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa are haggling over a fee for Donyell Malen, with the Premier League side's latest offer of €18 million deemed too low by the Black and Yellows.

According to local publication Ruhr Nachrichten, Dortmund are holding out for a base fee of €25-30 million for the Dutchman.

But although the parties are several million apart, a transfer isn't unthinkable - on the contrary, Villa are in such desperate need of reinforcements that an agreement on Dortmund's terms is "likely", according to the report.

Dortmund paid €30 million to sign Malen from PSV in 2021. Since then, the 25-year-old attacker has made 131 appearances for the club, scoring 39 goals and providing 20 assists.
