Serhou Guirassy's move from VfB Stuttgart to Borussia Dortmund was due to be completed last week, but has been put on hold after the Guinea international's medical revealed he has a knee injury.

The injury could have financial consequences for Guirassy and his representatives, who had negotiated a hefty €10 million signing-on fee with Borussia Dortmund.

Bild speculates that Guirassy's injury was covered up in order not to jeopardize the financially lucrative deal.

In any case, now that the injury has been discovered, Dortmund may try to negotiate the signing fee down - if the move is still to be completed.

According to Sky Germany, Guirassy has been examined by a specialist in Paris, with the verdict being no surgery and 2-4 weeks on the sidelines.

He will now be examined again at the beginning of the week, after which Dortmund will make a final decision on whether or not to sign the player, according to Bild.
