Borussia Dortmund have officially announced that they have parted ways with Sven Mislintat, as Sky Germany reports.

Mislintat and BVB agreed to a termination of the 52-year-old's contract which was set to run until 2028.

The news was confirmed by Lars Ricken who informed Sky of their decision and the talks are said to have gone ‘amicably’.

Mislintat, nicknamed ‘Diamantenauge’ (Diamond Eye) was originally chief scout at Dortmund from 2006 to 2017.

During that span over two decades, Mislintat was credited with BVB's signings of Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

He briefly held roles at Arsenal, VfB Stuttgart and Ajax before returning to Dortmund as technical director in 2024 where his relationship soured.

It was reported that Mislintat was seen as being ‘stubborn’ in his second stint while being fully convinced of his own ideas.
